National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.

Annual National Night Out in Vernon County
The 2025 National Night Out in Vernon County was an astounding success! While we did not take attendance as in previous years, with an expectation of growth of over 3000 attendees last year, 2025 was even more packed. The Vernon County and surrounding area came together to show their support for our first responder community in addition to learning about safety in a family-fun atmosphere. Thanks to all who came out to enjoy the event!
We invite you to join us for our 7th annual National Night Out event at the Vernon County Fairgrounds in Viroqua, WI. Join us for fun, education, and to meet the incredible first responders in our community.
What can you expect when attending National Night Out?
WHEN: August 4th, 2026 from 5PM-9PM

Meet many of the first responders working in Vernon County.

Gundersen Air by Emplify Health will land and provide an up-close look at their Med-Flight helicopter

Local businesses and organizations will have many booths with a community safety theme.

Kids will have a fantastic selection of activities and games to take part in.

Free food and refreshments will be located throughout the event.

Demonstrations from our EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement communities.

Fireworks will start at dusk.
